From 2014 to 2017, in collaboration with SpellKeeper, we created several micro-sites to promote the Grand Prix Magic the Gathering events in Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec and Vancouver, and many of the visuals surrounding the promotion and the events.
The microsites were used to promote events, direct players to the ConstantContact online registration system, and add event information as it became available.
We also managed the creation and printing of printed materials and did the complete management of social media and online advertising.
Online registration for all events planned for the weekend
Online registrations were managed in ConstantContact. Since there were multiple options for the main event, multiple events had to be created and handled in ConstantContact, and registrations needed to be handled accordingly.
We also had to add several additional events to the tool and ensure that none were oversold.
Monitoring had to be done every day to avoid problems.
Social media and promotion
We created all the social media promotion campaigns, as well as the advertising campaigns.
Promotion campaigns on Facebook were very personalized and everything happened in Gathering Magic-related groups within a reasonable radius around the city where the event was taking place. The ones on Twitter were less personalized but resulted in a substantial increase in the number of followers of Game Keeper’s general Twitter account. In 2017, promotion and monitoring were also done on Reddit.
In order to invite players to visit the newly launched micro-sites and promote online registrations, newsletters have been created and sent with the Courrielleur tool.
Printed and visual products
Using some graphics provided by Wizards (Magic the Gathering card maker), we designed all of the visuals for the microsites and social media campaigns. We also produced several printed materials to support the events, such as posters, promotional cards and more.
Thank You Pages
In 2018, Wizards having decided to give the contract to a single team for all Magic the Gathering Grand Prix in the world, we set up thank you pages for the players, taking advantage of our presence in the search results to make the online store promotion Game Keeper Online and their presence as vendors in new events.
